Man held with Rs 21L gold at airport

Ahmedabad: Customs department on Sunday held a man for smuggling gold worth Rs 21 lakh at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Mohammad Syed was caught carrying 700.08 grams of gold in his rectum at the city airport.
32-year-old Syed arrived at Ahmedabad from Dubai in SpiceJet flight SG-016 at 11.30 pm and while passing through the customs check the officials detained him on suspicion. Upon thorough check, it was found that Syed was carrying six gold biscuits in his rectum. Syed is a resident of Chennai. Each gold biscuit was of 116.16 grams.
