Mumbai: With the new state-of-art Terminal 2 opened up to the public on Wednesday, the airport authorities and the custom officials have started a blame game over delays in the baggage carousel system.
Airport sources hinted at the custom officials reporting late for x-ray baggage checking procedures and then going 'missing' again for a long time. They also added that the airlines staff despite being trained earlier did not put the baggage properly for scanning.
Custom officials blamed the problem in the carousel belt and lack of enough technicians at the venue apart from not being used to the new system.
Popular VJ-cum-actor Nikhil Chinapa, who arrived at T2 in the morning from Malaysia, was one of the affected passenger. Chinapa, had to wait for an hour to get back his baggage.
