Chennai: Cargo movement was affected at the Chennai airport due to a snag in the online system used by customs to process and clear consignments at the air cargo complex.
More than 1,000 bills and 300 tonnes of consignments have been piled up for the last two days.
Customs officials are yet to rectify the snag which developed on Tuesday due to a BSNL cable failure. Restoration work has been affected due to the strike called by Central Government employees.
Sources said that intranet and internet were used by customs to process documents and accept payments.
