SriLankan Airlines' MRO (Maintenance -Repair Overhaul) organization achieved a significant milestone when it performed the 100th "C" check on an IndiGo Airlines aircraft, India's largest low-fare carrier.
SriLankan's MRO organization has been performing "C" checks on IndiGo Airlines aircraft since 2009 and its 100th aircraft completed its "C" check with a wide range of additional work to refurbish the cabin (painting, re-trimming and cleaning) and enhance the exterior paint condition (re-painting faded or damaged areas, chemical cleaning and polishing). A "C" check is performed on an aircraft every 24 months with system tests, inspections and servicing as required by the manufacturer and authorities.
SriLankan Airlines, Head of Engineering, Priyantha Rose said, "IndiGo Airlines' longstanding partnership with us goes on to show our reputation as a reliable MRO services provider in the region. With the new MRO facility coming up at the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, this year, SriLankan Engineering will be geared to meet the growing demand for MRO services."
