The way the airline treated us is unacceptable: Rajeev Pillai

The air hostess has maintained that the team members clapped and whistled after the in-flight safety demonstration, while the players insist that there was just clapping, which they feel is common occurrence. Kerala Strikers team manager Edavela Babu, who was present there has said, "The team did not misbehave on the flight. The airline is our travel partner and we have been taking their flights throughout the series. On all these flights, we cheered for the captain and flight crew before the plane took off. That's all that happened this time too."
According to reports, the air hostess gave a written complaint to the captain of the plane, who in turn reportedly informed the players that they had to give a written apology or the flight wouldn't take off. Apparently, the team members felt that they didn't do anything which called for an apology and decided to disembark from the plane themselves. However, the statement issued by the airlines specify that the captain requested the security staff to offload the 30 passengers, along with their baggage, after other passengers on board too requested the same.
