Hyderabad: The railway link between Umdanagar station and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) is likely to benefit the surrounding villages of Shamshabad as the terminating station being planned on airport land is expected to have a dedicated entrance for locals.
According to railway sources, the 5.5 km Umdanagar station-RGIA link plans show the location of the terminating station on airport land. In addition to an entrance facing the airport terminal meant exclusively for airport users, an entrance/exit facing the Bangalore Highway is also proposed for the convenience of locals.
