Zim woman arrested in India over drugs

A Zimbabwean woman was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in India on Sunday night as she allegedly tried to smuggle narcotics worth about US$96 000. Dzvetero Mtegwe Mcvee (34) and her Mozambican companion Macamo Paulo Azarias (27) were arrested as they tried to board a plane to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The two were found to be in possession of 60kg of Pseudoephedrine, a banned narcotic drug used commonly by youngsters.
India’s Central Industrial Security Force said Mcvee was intercepted at Terminal-3 of the airport when her activities were found suspect and she was then subjected to frisking.
Small packets containing drugs were recovered from her which she had allegedly concealed in her knee and elbow pads. The white powder was later detected to be Pseudoephedrine, a banned narcotic drug used commonly by youngsters.
