Chandy, Ramesh attack Sudheeran on Aranmula

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Oommen Chandy has said that he was neither ready to have a discussion on Aranmula airport nor willing to scrap the project. He turned down the demand made by KPCC president V M Sudheeran to have a discussion with the Aranmula Janakiya Samithi at the KPCC-government coordination committee meeting held here on Tuesday.
Chandy and former KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala came down heavily on Sudheeran for raking up the Aranmula issue again for which the party had already taken a decision. But Sudheeran made it clear that the party has not taken any decision on the airport project and it has not been discussed in the party till now.
This was strongly criticized by home minister Ramesh Chennithala who said that he would not hesitate to go public against the stand taken by Sudheeran. However, other Congress leaders like K Muraleedharan and V D Satheesan supported the KPCC president and said that the government should have a discussion with the agitators.
