Flight diverted but patient dies

Visakhapatnam: Indigo’s Kolkata-Bangalore non-stop flight (No. 6E434) made a ‘priority landing’ here at Visakhapatnam International Airport on Thursday after a passenger complained of severe chest pain.
“On the request of captain-on-board after the flight took off from Kolkata, a request was made for a priority landing at the nearest airport. Later clearance was given to divert it to Visakhapatnam,” a spokesperson for Indigo told The Hindu from Delhi.
Naval doctors who attended on the sick passenger at the airport advised Indigo to rush him to a corporate hospital.
