Hyderabad: Customs officials today recovered 3.74 kgs gold worth over Rs 1 crore from seven passengers, including three women, at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here.
Abdul, Moomin, Dulkarni and Asrafali of Tamil Nadu - who arrived at the airport at Shamshabad by Silk Air from Singapore - were found to be carrying 2.10 kgs of pure gold concealed in rectangular pipes of the base of the suitcases and in mobile phone chargers during profiling by the Customs Intelligence, officials said.
Besides, three women - Nasim Begum, Mehmood and Zubeda of Hyderabad - arrived from Dubai and on profiling and re-scanning, the Customs Intelligence found they were carrying a total of 1.64 kgs of pure gold concealed in their garments and in the lining of the suitcase metal frame, they said.
