Malaysia Airlines plane: MEA in touch with kin of missing Indians

New Delhi: India is closely following the developments regarding the Malaysian Airlines MH370 plane in which five Indian nationals were also travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and has assured their families of all assistance and support.
The External Affairs ministry has said that the Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur was in constant contact with Malaysian authorities concerned in this regard.
"The government of India is closely following developments regarding the missing Malayasian Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Among the passengers are five Indian nationals.
"Since yesterday, the Indian High Commission in Malaysia and the embassies in China and DPR Korea have been in touch with the relatives of the five Indian nationals on the flight and we have assured them our assistance and support" the MEA said.
The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 that went missing yesterday over the South-China Sea en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur had 227 passengers aboard, including five Indians and one Indian-origin Canadian, and 12 crew members.
