Pune: “There’s no news yet, uncertainty is the hardest thing to bear,” said Rahul Shirsath, son of Kranti Shirsath, who is the one of the passengers of missing Malaysian flight MH370. The Shirsath family is now contemplating going to Malaysia after its embassy extended emergency passport facilities to them.
“I wish there was some information on what happened to the plane. This uncertainty is very hard. My brother becomes restless sometimes but I try to keep him busy. I have not talked to my father also as only one-way communication is possible. There are talks that my relatives will go to Malaysia,” said Rahul, who is in Class 11 at MIT school.
“My brothers-in-law were to go to Malaysia and stay with Pralhad (Kranti’s husband). Now, we are rethinking on what to do,” said Sateesh Shirsath, Pralhad’s brother.
There are also talks that Pralhad might fly down to Pune. “There is no point in staying in a foreign land alone without any news. Pralhad is currently in Beijing. His passport is with the Malaysian embassy. They have told him that they will give it back by Tuesday. Once he gets it back, he will probably come to Pune,” said Sateesh.
“The passports of both Rahul and Yashwant had expired. Malaysian Embassy is in constant contact with us. They have said they are in touch with Indian officials and have asked us to visit the passport office on Tuesday. They said their case will be taken up on priority. By Tuesday morning, we will have a clear picture of what to do,” said Sateesh.
