Newark: A 61-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly inappropriately touched a sleeping woman on a Newark-bound flight Sunday.
Devender Singh, a citizen of India who lives in Baton Rouge, La., was charged with one count of abusive sexual contact when he appeared in federal court in Newark on Monday, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Paul J. Fishman said in a release.
The woman had fallen asleep in a window seat when she woke to find Singh kissing her face, and putting his hand down her shirt, Fishman said. Singh also exposed himself as he groped the woman, according to the complaint.
She immediately alerted a member of the flight crew, and Singh was arrested by the FBI when the United Airlines flight from Houston landed. Singh did not know the woman, Fishman said.
