Nedumbassery: The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs Department at the Kochi international airport has seized 425.15 grams of gold from a passenger from Kuala Lumpur, the Customs Commissioner said on Friday. Sheik Abdulla, 49, of Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, who arrived by Air Asia flight AK 39 from Kuala Lumpur by 11 pm on Thursday, was apprehended and detained by officials. Officials said that two thin pieces of gold, each weighing 120 grams, were recovered from the telescopic handles of his travel bag.
