Panaji: In the first seizure of smuggled gold at Dabolim airport's new terminal building, a man from Chennai who was carrying around 600g of gold stuffed up his rectum, was nabbed by customs officials on Monday. The passenger was arriving from Mumbai on a domestic flight, AI 984.
Sleuths from the customs' air intelligence wing intercepted the passenger at the new terminal building which currently handles only domestic flights. When quizzed about his purpose of visit to Goa, the man replied that he ran a 'supari' business in Chennai, and was visiting Goa to take bulk orders from various hotels. When the sleuths asked him to name a few hotels he would be visiting, the man went blank and could not give a coherent response.
