Man returns to IGIA to see off wife for third time, assaults CISF men

New Delhi: A 36-year-old property dealer was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday on charges of assaulting Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel in charge of airport security.
The man, who had come to see off his wife, was reportedly in an inebriated state, police said.
According to airport officials, the incident was reported at 1 am at Terminal 3 when the accused, identified as Kush Mehra, came to see off his wife, who was to leave for Canada. Mehra is a South Delhi-based property dealer.
“Mehra was in an inebriated state and after seeing off his wife, he left only to return a few seconds later to see her off again. He requested the CISF staff to allow him inside to meet his wife. The security personnel, however, told him that they could ask his wife to come out and meet him. Meeting over and goodbyes exchanged, Mehra left, only to return to meet his wife again,” an airport official said. CISF officers, however, refused his request and told Mehra that they cannot allow it. This reportedly angered Mehra, who became aggressive and began assaulting the CISF personnel.
