Midair dance in Spice Jet : NHRC asked civil aviation ministry for immediate action

Bhubaneswar: The National Human Rights Commission has asked Ministry of civil aviation to take immediate and appropriate action in the case of allegedly mid air dance by the crew members in Spice jet flight. The directive of the Commission has come Wednesday in response to a petition filed by Odisha based human rights campaigner Akhand. It is noted that on March 17, 2014, the cabin crew of SpiceJet performed a small dance sequence on a song as part of Holi celebrations, with some passengers also joining in. These shows took place on flights, including Goa-Bangalore, Delhi-Goa-Delhi; Jaipur-Mumbai-Delhi; Mumbai-Bangalore-Kolkata and Bangalore-Pune-Ahmedabad. SpiceJet ran eight special flights on that day with extra cabin crew onboard to do a 2.5-minute jig . The videos of these events were taken and uploaded on various social media. In one video, a pilot is seen coming out of the cockpit and taking photographs of the celebrations at the front of the aisle. The Petitioner alleged that Cabin crew acts had drawn the attention of other crew on duty, thus reducing their preparedness/alertness.
