Pathanamthitta: Defence Minister A K Antony has said that the Defence Ministry had given only the conditional clearance for the Aranmula airport project to the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) by which the clearance was given for the project.
Addressing a meet-the-press programme here on Sunday, Antony said that the Navy had given only the no-objection certificate by putting up eight conditions for the project clearance.
As the DGCA is the authority concerned to issue the clearance, the Defence Ministry submitted the no-objection certificateto the DGCA, Antony said.
He further said that the security and safety of the country were given the utmost priority while issuing such NOCs.
