VVIP charter flights movement soar by 40 percent at Delhi airport due to elections

New Delhi: The operations of private jets and helicopters have increased by 40 per cent at the Indira Gandhi International airport.
The movement has reportedly increased due to Lok sabha elections as political leaders have to ferry from their elections rallies.
Notably, the Air Traffic controller also has to work overtime for the scheduling of these private flights.
Most of the political leaders travel to and fro from their rallies through private charter planes due to elections.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, chief minister of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi are among the top VVIPs commuting through choppers and charter planes.
Also, Bjp president Rajnath Singh and BSP chief Mayawati consistently flew from IGI airport.
