Elections boost Nagpur airport's revenues

Nagpur:  The ongoing Lok Sabha elections have boosted the Indian economy and helped many businesses survive. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur is also among the beneficiary.
The airport operated by Mihan India Limited (MIL) earned over Rs11 lakh in just one and half months from March 1 to mid-April only through private aircraft. Thanks to political rallies of different parties and visits of dignitaries, including BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi, by their chartered flights or helicopters. Though the rallies were not held in Nagpur, they used the airport to reach the region and fly out to different places.
