India's Jet Airways to transfer all ATRs to Jet Konnect

Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l) is planning to transfer its eighteen ATR72-500s to its low cost subsidiary, Jet Konnect (S2, Mumbai Int'l), as part of plans to develop itself into a complete full-service carrier. The ATRs are currently used on Tier-II routes as well as on flights between Bangalore Int'l, Hyderabad Int'l, and Chennai in the south of the country.
Under Jet's plans to improve Jet Konnect's operations and overall competitiveness, the turboprops, with the approval of their lessors, will be transferred to the subsidiary's air operator's permit where they will join five B737-700s, four B737-800s and two B737-900s. Jet Konnect will then be streamlined into a more conventional budget carrier while Jet Airways will maintain its core focus as a full-service carrier.
