Jeweller was abducted by 3 cops from airport

New Delhi:  The abduction and murder of a 30-year-old man by cops in southwest Delhi on Monday is not the first such incident this year. A similar incident took place a few weeks ago where a jeweller was abducted from IGI airport allegedly by three cops, who were from Mayapuri and Khayala police stations in west Delhi. The victim was later released in mysterious circumstances.
Senior officers learnt of the incident after the three cops were accused of extorting Rs 10 lakh from the trader. The cops were suspended and an inquiry was started. Head constables Mahipal and Suresh were posted in Mayapuri, while their accomplice, Rajender, from the Khayala police station, is of the same rank. Officials said the team functioned as "special staff" and conducted operations beyond their jurisdiction.
