Lucknow: Catching a flight to Delhi? Be prepared to shell out almost 30% more, thanks to the heavy summer rush. The fares for Lucknow-Delhi flights will be touching a mark of over Rs 5,000 in June. This is almost one-third more than it was about a fortnight back, around Rs 4,000.
Air India's 8.40am flight from Lucknow to Delhi may cost a passenger around Rs 5,000 on June 3. This goes up to around Rs 6,500 in case of a Jet Konnect flight with departure time 7.45 am.
An official in Jet airways said the demand has gone up substantially because of vacations when people fly out of the city. The high demand for flights is also accentuated by heavy rush of passengers in the trains forcing passengers to take an aerial route to reach their destinations.
