Kochi: The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs Department at the Cochin International Airport here arrested a person carrying 699.5 grams of gold on Thursday. The intercepted person, a native of Kannur, arrived on a flight from Sharjah at 6 am, and was caught while trying to hurriedly get through the ‘Green Channel’ at the airport. On searching, the gold was found concealed in two umbrellas, the second instance of gold seizure this week.
