Chennai: A man from Jaipur, Rohit Kevat (57), should consider himself lucky to be alive after he fell from the departure level of the domestic airport and hit the ground some 50 feet below. Departures are handled on the second floor while arrivals are handled on the ground floor.
According to airport sources, passengers who were arriving on the ground level were startled at 5 am when there was screaming from the upper level and a man’s body came crashing down, “He fell down and luckily didn’t hit his head. That is the only reason he survived,” said an AAI official.
Police sources who got to him and rushed him to the Apollo Medical Centre immediately, said that witnesses described the fall as “a deliberate one”.
