Bhubaneswar: Security at Biju Patnaik Airport here has been beefed up following the June 8 terrorist attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has sent a warning to city airport authorities and asked them to tighten security in and outside the airport.
The BCAS has specifically mentioned the security measures to be taken, airport sources said.
The quick response team, belonging to the central industrial security force (CISF), has been asked to remain alert. "We have sanitized the entire area after reviewing the security apparatus. We have 230 CISF personnel," said airport director Sharad Kumar. He said no trespasser can enter the airport operation areas as CISF men are posted at 13 towers along its 13-km length boundary.
