Mumbai: Flyers from Navi Mumbai will soon be able to take air-conditioned Volvo buses to the domestic and international airport. The NMMT has procured 14 Volvo buses at a cost Rs 1 crore each. Of these, at least 10 will be deployed on the airport route.
Transport officials are currently surveying routes for the stops and also to fix the fares and timing of the new services. "The buses are likely to be run from CBD through the SCLR flyover to the airport. But initiating the service from Ghatkopar is also being considered. A decision will be taken once the survey report is made available. It will detail the exact distance these buses will cover and the stops," said an NMMT official.
