Mathura: A case has been registered into an alleged attempt to steal fuel from Mathura-Jalandhar pipeline, about 11.5 kms from the Mathura Refinery in Puspanjali in Upavan Colony falling under Highway police station here.
An IOC official said that aviation turbine fuel was being sent through the pipeline at present.
"FIR has been registered against unknown persons," Telecom and Instrumental Manager, IOC Mathura Refinery Suman Tutoo said, adding that a probe has been ordered.
"Though the pipeline is meant for movement of all petroleum products, at present aviation turbine fuel was passing through the pipeline," Tutoo said.
"The case has been registered u/s 15/16 Petroleum and Mineral Pipeline act," DySP Ajai Pal Singh said.
Suspicion has been raised on the manager and some residents of Upavan colony by IOC authorities, as per the FIR.
