Airfare hike during vacation

It has been noticed that all the airlines in general ruthlessly increase their tickets during school vacations.
Those going to India in particular face a lot of pressure due to the fare hike.
But in general almost all expat families bear the brunt of this hike in airfare during school vacation.
International Indian School, Dammam (IISD) is one of the largest schools in the world with more than 17,000 students whose families visit India when the school closes for summer.
Airlines justify the hike in airfare saying direct flights cost the airlines more than the transit flights.
Jet Airways, Saudia, Air India etc. operating to India have become very expensive. Transit flights are cheaper compared to direct flights.
Most of the expats cannot afford traveling to their homeland with an increased fare of SR3,000-4,000. Particularly in this year the airfare has gone up to more than SR4,000. The hike in the airfare is not only during summer vacation but also during all other school vacations.
