Horrid time for AI passengers as aircraft develops technical snag

Bangalore: Nearly 100 passengers of a Bangalore-Mumbai Air India flight had a horrible time on Saturday morning after their flight got cancelled due to a technical snag.

Trouble started when the flight taxied on the runway of Kempegowda International Airport for some distance before coming to a halt around 6.40 am. There was commotion in the flight as the passengers were clueless why the flight stopped on the runway. Only after some anxious minutes did the crew announce that the flight was not taking off due to a technical snag.

AI officials confirmed that the flight was delayed due to technical reasons, and as per air safety regulations the matter was referred to ground engineers at the airport.

A passenger, who was on board, told Bangalore Mirror, "If waiting in the aircraft for half an hour was not enough, we were told to board the aiport bus. However, the bus refused to move until the passengers forced the driver.
