SpiceJet flight returns to Cochin after pilot detects snag

Kochi:  A SpiceJet flight from Cochin to Delhi, via Chennai, had to return to Cochin on Saturday morning as the pilot detected a technical stag after the aircraft was airborne. Airport sources said the aircraft carrying 138 passengers took off at 6.15 am and landed at 6.42 am. The pilot noticed some defects in the aircraft's altimeter.

Meanwhile, airline officials arranged another aircraft, which flew in from Bangalore to Kochi, to ferry stranded passengers to Chennai and Delhi. The flight took off at 11.45am, the destination was Chennai. Some passengers complained that airline officials appeared unconcerned despite the fact they had pressing works at their destinations. "They were telling that we could be taken to Delhi only in the evening as all other SpiceJet flights were booked. I had to reach urgently Delhi as my daughter ? who had flown in another flight ? was waiting alone at the Delhi airport," said Kochi corporation secretary Anuja from Delhi.
