Pune: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) here has identified five municipal schools in rural parts of the district for constructing toilets for girl child.

The project in Pune forms a part of the AAI's larger plans of construction toilets at 765 schools in 37 districts across the country under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and to further the objectives of the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

"We have identified municipal schools at Baramati, Khed, Shirur, Indapur and Ajwali where the work for building toilet blocks would start soon," said Manoj K Gangal, director of AAI, Pune.

"As part of the abhiyan, the AAI has focused on cleaning washrooms at the Lohegaon airport and ensuring that the airport surroundings are clean as they are always."
