Air India passengers from the city to Delhi have been finding it difficult to meet keep schedule as the flight has been taking off late for about a month. Officials have only twoword explanation: "Technical problem". Rahul Kumar, 40, had come to Ahmedabad from Delhi on Wednesday to participate in an event of his company. He had to return to Delhi on the same day for a meeting. When he reached Ahmedabad airport to catch Air India flight 030, he learnt that the flight was delayed.
"The flight was delayed for almost two hours. We had no option but to wait for it sitting in the airport. This disturbed our schedule very much," he told Mirror. When inquired, sources in Air India said, "It is almost a month that the flight is coming late from Delhi and this happens at least three times in a week. Passengers shout at us but we are helpless. We cannot do anything other than try to pacify them."
According to officials, every day around 20 passengers from Ahmedabad catch this flight to reach Delhi. The scheduled arrival time of the flight is 9.45 pm and it departs at 10.15 pm. But due this "technical problem' this flight has been coming late. On October 9 it was 34-minute late, on October 8 it was 2 hrs and 22 minutes behind schedule. When asked about the frequent delay an Air India spokesperson from Mumbai said, "It's true that the flight was delayed three times last week but that is due to operational reasons which could be even the internal matters of the airline."
