Haj pilgrims to be screened for Ebola at IGI

New Delhi: Taking no chances with the Ebola virus, Airport Health Organisation (APHO) has asked DIAL to install three counters to check passengers at IGI airport's Terminal 2, which is dedicated for Haj pilgrims. The terminal will be equipped with extra machinery and manpower to detect and prevent the disease from spreading into the country.

More than 14,000 Haj pilgrims are expected to land in Delhi between October 10 and October 24 on 32 different flights. APHO officials said screening is already being carried out via three counters at the busy Terminal 3 since the outbreak of the virus was reported earlier this year.
