Thiruvananthapuram: The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has handed over a dividend of Rs 17.76 crore to the State Government. CIAL recorded a total revenue of Rs 361.39 crore during 2013-14.
Handing over the cheque to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy the other day, Minister K Babu, who is also the director of CIAL, said that CIAL was able to return 132 per cent of the government investment as dividend for the last financial year.
“CIAL has successfully returned 132 per cent of government investment with this dividend,” K Babu said.
As of now, there is no move to change the ground-handling duties at CIAL from Air India, he said, replying to a query. Additional Chief Secretary and CIAL Managing Director V J Kurian and company secretary Saji K George were also present.
