Mangalore: Airport authorities of India will likely reschedule the night flights for six months from November 1 as it would carry out runway-end safety area work at the Mangalore International Airport.
Speaking to daijiworld, J T Radhakrishnan, director of the airport said, "Fifteen days ago, I had written to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation seeking permission to reschedule the night flights from 11:30 pm to 7:30 am to carry out the parallel runway taxi safety improvement works at the airport."
"This means that there will not be any take-off and landing process between 11.30 pm and 7.30 am. The affected airlines will have to reschedule their operation to avoid night landing and take off," he added.
"Suspending night flights would effect two airlines operating from Dubai and Dammam and the Winter schedule of airlines would be effective from October 27," he concluded.
