Earthmover, 12 Tonnes of Food Airlifted to Visakhapatnam

Hyderabad: The heavy lift transport aircraft C-17 of the Indian Air Force (IAF) left for Visakhapatnam from Begumpet airport on Wednesday carrying some 12 tonnes of food material and also an earthmover. The earthmover was being carried to Visakhapatnam to remove the debris on the roads and clear the roads for traffic.

A 10-member group of IAF led by Group Captain TR Ravi left with with the aircraft. As soon as the aircraft arrived from Delhi on Wednesday, food and earthmover was loaded into it.

“We are carrying 12 tonnes of food material, some medicines and an earthmover. The roads in Visakhapatnam are blocked due to big trees getting uprooted and other debri accumulating. We will remove the debris to clear the roads for regular traffic,” Group Captain TR Ravi said.
