Mangalore: Customs at Mangalore International Airport (MIA) seized 204 grams of gold, valued at Rs.5.5 lakh, from a passenger who arrived at the airport on Thursday night.
Pravin Vinod, assistant commissioner of Customs (airport), stated that the gold was concealed in the form of a measuring tape, in buckles of a rexine travel bag, buckles of sandals, handles of hair brush and pen refill.
They were all kept in a travel bag carried by the passenger who arrived from Dubai. The passenger is Sarfras Povval Mohammed Kunhi, 30, a resident of Nagarakatte cross road, Fort Road, Kasaragod.
