Over 6 kg gold biscuits seized at Delhi int'nl airport

Over six kilogrammes of smuggled gold bars and biscuits have been seized at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) here by CISF sleuths.

The large haul of the yellow metal was made yesterday in two different incidents at the international air facility.

In the first seizure, Central Industrial Security Force officials detected suspicious activities of an incoming passenger from Dubai who was meeting a ground handling staffer of the airport near a bathroom in the Terminal-3 of the IGIA.

"The passenger, K Nassar of Kerala, and the ground handling staffer Nibin have been handed over to the Customs authorities. Three kilogramme gold biscuits were seized in this operation which was conducted around 9:45am," CISF spokesperson Hemendra Singh said.
