Ahmedabad: Two new VIP lounges, an assistance counter and several other special arrangements will be made for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (January 7-9) and Vibrant Gujarat Summit (January 11-13) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
A high-level meeting was held at the city airport on Thursday to discuss the preparations for the upcoming high-profile events. Senior officials of state tourism department, city police and Airports Authority of India (AAI) held discussions for the security and coordination during the two events.
"Two VIP lounges, one in the departure and one in the arrival area, will be made while an assistance counter will be created in the porch area of departure," said R K Singh, airport director. There are already two VIP lounges each at the departure and arrival area of domestic terminal at the airport.
