Chennai: Several flights from Delhi to Chennai were delayed by two to three hours due to fog in the national capital.
In Delhi, 13 flights were cancelled and 80 flights were delayed. Visibility dipped in Lucknow, Patna and Chandigarh airports too. The entire northern region was enveloped in dense or mild fog in the morning. Fog also affected movement of trains.
Passengers who booked tickets on the morning flights started to reach Chennai only in the afternoon. The flights were scheduled to arrive between 9.20am and 12noon.
A SpiceJet flight, scheduled to reach here at 9.25am, arrived at around noon. A Jet Airways flight, scheduled to arrive at 9.30am, reached only at 1pm, and an Indigo airlines flight, scheduled at 9.35am, arrived at 1.30pm.
