Kolkata airport to become better

Kolkata: Aiming to evolve into a world-class airport with the state-of-the-art technologies and amenities, major improvements are under way in the city`s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (NSCB) International Airport that handles 11 million passengers annually.

"We are resurfacing the main runway of the airport to category 3B. Kolkata airport will become the second airport after Delhi in India to have this. The process will be completed by December 2015," B.P. Sharma, NSCB Airport director, told IANS.

This project is estimated to cost Rs.125 crore.
