New Delhi: The government has spent Rs. 2,263.95 crore on repairing and maintaining Sukhoi aircraft with the Indian Air Force (IAF) over three years, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said Tuesday.
In a written statement in the Rajya Sabha, the minister said while Rs. 551.35 crore was spent in 2011-12, this went up to Rs. 877.84 crore the next year and stood at Rs.834.76 crore in fiscal 2013-14.
The maintenance work on SU-30 was carried out in accordance with procedures specified in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Maintenance Manuals and Servicing Schedules for the aircraft, he said.
