Lax Airport Staff Denied Entry by CISF

Several housekeeping staff, contracted airline employees and even a few policemen had an unpleasant start to their new year.

When they arrived at the airport and attempted to enter the terminal using their ‘entry pass’, the same one that got them access even yesterday, they found stoic Central Industrial security Staff (CISF) guards in their path. Enforcing the rule that no one with an expired entry pass would be allowed, they stopped people from entering through the day - leading to a lot of grumbling.

A union member let on that the airport entry pass is usually supposed to be renewed between November 20 and December 26 - but regulars tended to take it easy and get it done “a few days into the new year”. Not this time.

With a change over in the CISF and BCAS management, tougher calls were taken and a strong message was sent out on Thursday.
