GMR Aero to be Bombardier service facility

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based GMR Aero Technic will now be the first Indian authorised service facility for Bombardier’s Q400 turboprop aircraft.

As per an announcement made today in Toronto, Canada, Bombardier said GMR Aero will offer its customers the full range of line and heavy maintenance services from its facilities located at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Hyderabad.

The 27,300 sq m maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility is certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency for line maintenance, and by both the agency and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for heavy maintenance.

GMR Aero will also provide service to Q400 aircraft operators for countries near India, said Todd Young, Vice-President, Customer Services, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. Currently, there are more than 340 Bombardier commercial aircraft in service with, or ordered by, customers and operators in Asia.
