Hoping to ink deal with IAF soon, Rafale displays aircraft at Aero India 2015

Kolkata:  Hoping to ink the deal with Indian Air Force for supply of 126 Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) soon, the consortium of Dassault Aviation, Thales and Snecma (safran) - three leading international aerospace companies that form Rafale International - will showcase the Rafale fighter aircraft at Aero India 2015 that got underway at Air Force Station Yelahanka, in Bengaluru from Wednesday.

During the air show, three Rafale aircraft, including a single-seater Rafale C and two two-seater Rafale B will be displayed. There will also be a daily flight "solo" display, a source in Rafale said. This is an attempt to display the consortium's commitment to India and to Indian interests, he added.

"Dassault Aviation, the Rafale manufacturer, has contributed proudly to India's defence preparedness for more than 60 years. Demonstrating the Rafale's capabilities in Aero India, is reaffirming Rafale International's support to India's sovereignty. We have had a long standing relationship with the Indian Air Force and industry and will continue to partner India in meeting its strategic defence and economic needs," said Eric Trappier, chairman and chief executive officer of Dassault Aviation.
