During air show, sky is the limit for room rentals in City

Bengaluru: The Aero India-2015 has turned into a money-spinner for hotels, which are making a killing with scores of delegates from across the globe landing in the City for the five-day event. All the major hotels have jacked up the room tariffs by 40-50 percent.

A room in The Chancery Pavilion, a five-star hotel on Residency Road now costs 40-50 per cent more than its normal rent. While no base rooms are available in the hotel, luxury suites come at a hefty rental.

Pradeep, reservation associate for The Chancery Pavilion said, “All the rooms in our hotel are booked barring two or three luxury rooms. The pricing of the rooms, not only for us but all the hotels, is dynamic and keep changing on a day-to-day basis depending on the demand. For the Aero India show, definitely, the demand has gone up and so have the tariffs for our property as well as all that of others”.

Similarly, Hotel Le Meridien on Golf Course Road has hiked the room tariffs by 50 per cent and all the rooms are booked for the five days of the Aero Show.

Nanda Kumar, Revenue Manager, Le Meridien said, “ All our rooms are sold out. It is a matter of demand and supply. Since the demand is more the tariffs will go automatically up. The rooms in our hotel are available at 50 percent more tariffs during this period.”
