Kochi: The Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has touched a new high in terms of passenger traffic in the just concluded financial year.
Passenger movement through the airport during 2014-15 has been pegged at 64.50 lakh, which, the airport sources claimed, was a growth of 21 per cent over the previous fiscal. During 2013-14, the airport had handled 53.86 lakh passengers.
While 37.59 lakh international passengers passed through the airport in the last fiscal, it was 32.71 lakh in the financial year before — a growth of 14.50 per cent.
The number of domestic passengers was 26.91 lakh and 21.14 lakh respectively, an impressive growth of 27.30 per cent.
The total number of passengers handled by the airport recorded a growth of 20.90 per cent.
