Cops view footage, want victim to identify accused

Mangaluru: The city police are pulling out all stops to expedite the case related to the alleged harassment and abuse of an IT professional by taxi operators at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Friday.

On Tuesday, they sought the permission from the court to transfer the case to Bajpe police station, as it comes under that jurisdiction.

"We are awaiting court's order to hand over the case to its jurisdictional police station. It's a minor issue. Although the occurrence falls in the ambit of local courts, there are different JMFC courts, and it is our duty to inform the courts of this development. The case should be handed over by today evening," said an officer.

Meanwhile, a lady police inspector, who is currently the investigating officer, went to MIA and examined the CCTV footage.
