Ahmedabad: In spite of stricter passport and immigration rules, Gujaratis are ready to pay huge amounts for fake passport and visa to achieve their foreign dreams. In a new modus operandi, a carrier was caught while trying to take a woman to Canada on fake documents from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport.
A man and woman posing as couple were held at international terminal of city airport with fake passport and visa by officials of Bureau of Immigration on late Saturday night. The duo was to fly to Canada by a Qatar Airways flight before they were caught.
Sardarnagar police arrested Bangalore based Arun Alphonse and a Kadi based woman on Sunday for travelling on fake passport and visa stamp.
